Some dysautonomia patients become bedridden due to their illness. Being bedridden is a serious health problem. Not only is it emotionally devastating to not be able to do the things you want to do, but with each passing week, your body becomes more and more deconditioned, which makes many symptoms of dysautonomia worse. Being bedridden can lead to other health problems like osteoporosis, muscle atrophy and an increased risk of blood clots, so it's very important to work with your medical team to develop a plan that gets you out of bed and functioning again.
Here are some exercises that can be done in bed or in a reclined position. Check with your doctor before you begin any new exercise program and go at your own pace.
