Autonomic Disorders Workshop

Dysautonomia International is pleased to offer a 7 credit CME Autonomic Disorders Workshop on Saturday, July 15, 2017 during our 5th Annual Conference, held at the Sheraton Tysons Hotel. Enrollment in the Workshop is restricted to licensed medical professionals and students currently enrolled in a graduate level curriculum in the medical profession.

DATE & LOCATION
Saturday, July 15, 2017 - 8:30am-5:00pm
Sheraton Tysons Hotel, 8661 Leesburg Pike, Tysons, Virginia 22182

PURPOSE
This workshop is designed to teach community physicians how to recognize autonomic disorders, how to initiate proper treatment, and when to refer to a tertiary care center. Collectively, autonomic disorders impact millions of Americans, but due to a lack of awareness, these patients often endure lengthy diagnostic delays and frequent misdiagnosis. This workshop will review postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), neurocardiogenic syncope, neurogenic orthostatic hypotension, autonomic failure and autonomic neuropathies secondary to autoimmune disease and diabetes. Physicians will learn to recognize the symptoms of autonomic disorders, the widespread effects they can cause throughout the body, and how to manage individual symptoms, as well as treating the patient in an integrated manner.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Primary Care, Family Practitioners, Pediatricians, Neurologists, Internists, Cardiologists, Electrophysiologists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, School Nurses and Allied Health Professionals

ACCME ACCREDITATION
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the Joint Providership of Professional Education Services Group and Dysautonomia International. Professional Education Services Group is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Professional Education Services Group designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 7 AMA Category 1 CreditsTM. Participants should only claim the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in this activity.
