Dysautonomia Lobby Day

This year we are returning to Capitol Hill on Monday, July 17th for the biggest Dysautonomia Lobby Day ever!

We're inviting EVERYONE to join us, whether you've attended the Dysautonomia International Annual Conference held the weekend prior or not. Patients, caregivers, family, friends, medical professionals and industry partners are all invited to join us in advocating for increased funding for autonomic disorders research and requesting a formal Congressional Briefing on the needs of the dysautonomia patient community. Let's #MakeNoiseForTurquoise!

Since it takes time for us to set up meetings with your House and Senate members, all Lobby Day participants must sign up before July 1. Space is limited, so we recommend signing up early.

Lobby Day Registration Fee:
2017 Conference or CME guest = $20 per person
All others = $50 per person

Lobby Day registration is non-refundable and includes the following:
- Coach bus transportation from the Sheraton Tysons Hotel to the Capitol
- Return coach bus transportation to Reagan airport, Dulles airport or the Sheraton Tysons Hotel
- Lobby Day training session
- Coordination of meetings with your elected officials
- Printed materials
- Access to the Dysautonomia Lobby Day App on your mobile device
- Refreshments and snacks at our Lobby Day meeting space on Capitol Hill

Professional attire is required when meeting with House and Senate offices on Capitol Hill. Wear something turquoise if you can to show your support for dysautonomia awareness.

Our meeting space across the street from the Capitol, next to the Supreme Court, will provide comfortable, air-conditioned space for Lobby Day guests to relax in between scheduled meetings. Drinks and food will be available throughout the day. If you have the energy, you can enjoy the walking paths surrounding the Capitol area, or take a tour of the Capitol Visitor's Center.

A coach bus for Lobby Day guests headed to the Capitol will depart the Sheraton Tysons Hotel at 9am on Monday, July 17th. We will have options for return shuttle busses to Reagan, Dulles and back to the Sheraton Tysons Hotel around 4pm. If you have to leave earlier to catch a flight, you can take public transportation or a taxi.

We will pre-arrange meetings with as many of your House and Senate members as possible, resulting in 2-3 meetings per Lobby Day guest. These meetings are critical in increasing awareness about our patient community's needs on Capitol Hill, and pushing for an increase in NIH research funding for POTS and other autonomic disorders.
